The Ichiban Kyokushin Karate Association (IKKA) OR 1-KYOKUSHIN was formed by Shihan Claasen many years after after resigning from the Kyokushin Karate Union of Shihan Bas van Stenis of which he was a branch instructor for many years.
After becoming a member of the WKO and switching to Shorin Kempo Karate, Shihan realised that many instructors only joined to get rank and were doing organisation hopping with the intention of getting promotions. Therefore the IKKA was streamlined and since then the organisation has grown slowly, one step at a time.
In 2020, the dojo in Vredendal celebrated its 21st Anniversary!
Shihan Claasen is a member of the WORLD SABAKI FEDERATION (WSF) as well as the WORLD KUMITE ORGANISATION (WKO) based in Pattaya, Thailand.
